When materials are the key to a kitchen renovation

Kitchens are one of those areas around our homes where we spend most of our time. Of course, it’s the place where we cook, but it’s also where the kids do homework, where we gather around with friends, or even where we improvise an office. My clients used this space for all that and so much more. When they approached me to redesign this area, I knew that materials were the key element to this kitchen renovation.

During the long process of space distribution, demolition of existing cabinetry, etc., my client and I had the opportunity to select the materials and finishes for the entire space. We knew that the floors were going to be sand-colored marble. Also, we chose a Macchiato quartz countertop and quartzite for the island. After the installation (and the opening of new windows), the space seemed bigger and, of course, brighter.
The selection of the right accessories, in combination with the materials used, gave this space an elegant final look. I already asked my client to rent me a little spot in her brand-new kitchen!
Sometimes, you don’t need extreme changes to make a big impact. By adding accessories and a coat of paint, you can make a huge difference in your space. What new projects are you tackling this Summer?

Thank you so much Kim. The stone used is my favorite part of this kitchen.
