A Mediterranean-Inspired Kitchen Transformation:  Designed for Living

Starting a kitchen renovation project with a path to follow always enhances the experience. 

Throughout the evolution of this space, we aimed to create a kitchen that perfectly marries  beauty and functionality. We have envisioned a kitchen that not only serves as a culinary  workspace but also as a warm, inviting gathering place for family and friends. Inspired by the  timeless elegance of Mediterranean design, we set out to transform this dated, traditional kitchen  into a modern and sophisticated haven. We partnered with Build with Ferguson to source lighting, plumbing accessories, appliances, and decorative accents throughout the updated kitchen, and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!  

The Vision 

From the outset, the goal was clear: to breathe new life into the kitchen by incorporating modern  elements while staying true to the Mediterranean aesthetic. The existing kitchen had charming  arched windows, which became a central design element, inspiring us to use curves throughout  the space. Our aim was to create a “mélange parfait”—a perfect blend—of old-world charm and  contemporary luxury. 

Before: A Space in Need of a Revival

The original kitchen, while functional, lacked the modern amenities and design features desired.  It was dark, with traditional elements that no longer fit any modern lifestyle. The space needed  an update that would enhance both its functionality and aesthetic appeal. The cabinetry and  countertops were dated, the lighting was insufficient, and the appliances needed to be upgraded  to meet today’s standards. 

After: A Mediterranean Sophisticated Kitchen 

The final transformation is nothing short of remarkable. The new design exudes elegance and  sophistication, with every detail carefully considered. The marble countertops and backsplash  add a touch of opulence, while the brass fixtures from Ferguson bring a warm, luxurious feel to the space. The lighting fixtures, such as the iconic Minka Lavery pendant lights above the island, provide both functionality and a striking visual element. 

One of the standout features of this renovation is the custom-designed kitchen island. Emulating  the look of a traditional dining table with its elegant legs and raised storage, the island serves as  both a practical workspace and a central gathering point in the kitchen. The Dual-Zone Wine  Cooler by Landmark from Ferguson ensures that the clients can entertain with ease, keeping their favorite bottles at the perfect temperature. 

Product Selection: Why Build with Ferguson? 

Choosing the right products for this renovation was critical to achieving the desired outcome. We partnered with Build with Ferguson to source high-quality fixtures, hardware, and appliances that not only fit the aesthetic vision but also met the practical needs of the space. Ferguson’s Project Tool was invaluable in helping us curate a wishlist of a perfect mix of products, ensuring that everything worked together seamlessly. 

The Role of CGI in the Design Process 

After the design and selection portion of the project was completed, Ferguson brought our vision to life using Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) to create a virtual representation of the space. These CGI renderings also made it easier to communicate ideas in a more realistic way by helping with the visualization of the end result.

This Mediterranean-inspired kitchen renovation is a testament to the power of thoughtful design  and quality craftsmanship.
