Using decor to bring comfort to the soul

I’m so honored to be part of the BHG Live Better Influencer Network where, as a blogger, I’ve received compensation from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart. The opinions stated in Using decor to bring comfort to the soul are my own. For more updates on their products and decor ideas, you can always follow them on FacebookPinterestTwitter, and Instagram.

The act of giving is something that must come from the heart. This month’s Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart Influencer Challenge was all about giving back to the community. And with this in mind, I created a plan to help out Thomas Armour Youth Ballet School by updating their storage/seating area in their Sunset facility here in South Miami.

This ballet school has an amazing outreach program where they offer a variety of learning dance and enrichment activities in a safe and well-supervised environment. This was a reason enough for me to give back to the people that give so much to others.

In this simple plan I provided (made in Sketchup) I was able to accommodate storage and a sitting area.

Providing efficient and modern storage

On the back area of  Thomas Armour Youth Ballet School they’ve accommodate a small storage area and a sitting space for young girls to wait for their class to begin. My plan was to bring in a more efficient storage alternative and to provide inspiration to young boys and girls.

After a fresh coat of paint and rearranging some of their existing sitting furniture, I brought in 3 Better Homes & Gardens 5 Cube Storage Organizer to create a wall of accessible storage. This area will help keep at hand important school supplies and at the same time will create an organized look. I also used some of Better Homes & Gardens Collapsible Storage Bin to conceal some smaller items.

Paint made a huge difference into the appearance of this room. It now looks more open and light.

I’m so grateful for the help that my father and husband provided into this project.

This table will soon be replace by two round ones to help with the flow of this area.

Bringing inspiration to every corner

Another area that I was happy to help in bringing up a fresh look was their bathroom. I took advantage of the height of the walls inside this room and added a gallery wall. By mixing different sizes of Better Homes & Gardens frames (11″x14″ and 5″x7″) and some of their existing art I was able to create a visual inspiration from amazing student dancers from past events. A new mini blind was placed also inside this bathroom to bring more light in besides privacy. These come in different sizes, so after measuring go and check Better Homes & Gardens big selection at Walmart.

After my job was done, I stood there for a moment to take all those changes in. I was amazed of how a simple idea could generate such a big difference. This got me into thinking even deeper; if we all do a small part in society by helping others, we would all be an inspiring motor that could generate a chain reaction of good deeds. By using decor to bring comfort to the soul I was able to end this project with a full heart!
